We correct errors promptly and visibly.

Update or correction?

Update: our story was accurate when published; the facts or the evidence have changed since.
Correction: our story contained a factual error or a misleading omission.

We use these words as labels and do not blur them.

We stop sharing the story further while a credible concern is checked.
Once an error is confirmed, we correct the story, label the change, and correct the original post on X and anything that depended on it — translations, images and later posts.
If a story has to be removed, we say that it was removed without repeating the harmful detail.
