Florida businessman sues First Horizon Bank over $6.5 million transfer

Florida businessman Misael Rosario is suing First Horizon Bank over the unauthorized transfer of about $6.5 million from accounts connected to his businesses in March. His attorney, Victor Velarde, alleges an impersonator called the bank claiming to have a new phone to obtain a replacement security token. First Horizon Bank disputes the allegations and has sought a partial dismissal of the lawsuit. More than $4 million of the transferred funds remains missing after authorities recovered some of the money. Plaintiffs also allege a potential connection to an earlier case involving a Palm Beach County law firm and more than $17 million in transfers, claiming funds in both cases reached accounts linked to the same Chinese company.
This case involves a dispute over bank identity-verification procedures.
