Indian Railways plans 24-coach Vande Bharat sleeper trains for overnight routes

Indian Railways is planning a 24-coach variant of the Vande Bharat sleeper train to cater to longer distance overnight journeys.

The Integral Coach Factory (ICF) Chennai has been tasked with manufacturing 50 Vande Bharat sleeper trains that will have 24 coaches.

Each train will include a pantry car and features described as better than the Rajdhani Express.

India's first Vande Bharat sleeper maintenance depot is scheduled to open in Jodhpur.

For Indian Americans and diaspora families traveling across India, the 24-coach sleeper trains will offer upgraded long-distance overnight transit.
