Federal Judge Halts Tree Removal at East Potomac Golf Links in Washington

A federal judge extended a pause on tree-cutting at East Potomac Golf Links on Monday after the Trump administration cut down at least 430 trees over the weekend.

The public golf course is located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., and President Donald Trump is seeking to renovate it.

The judge chastised Justice Department lawyers and stated she was "furious" over the removal of the trees.

Tree removal at the site remains halted while the legal challenge continues in federal court.

For Indian American residents and visitors in the Washington area, tree removal at East Potomac Golf Links remains paused under a federal court order.
