Nizamabad families seek help for 4 men allegedly trapped in Russia

Families of four men from the erstwhile Nizamabad district met Gadwal Vijayalaxmi, Vice Chairperson of the Telangana State Planning Board and State-level in-charge of CM Prajavani, during the 262nd CM Prajavani on Friday to seek information on their whereabouts and safety.

The men—identified by their families as Bhukya Ravinder, Siddula Ashok, Prakash, and Mohammed Afzal Khan—allegedly traveled to Russia for promised oil company jobs but were later made to join the Russian military.

Nizamabad Police arrested Gaurav, an agent from Uttar Pradesh allegedly involved in sending the men to Russia, and remanded him to judicial custody.

Gadwal Vijayalaxmi spoke with Nizamabad Police Commissioner Sai Chaitanya and requested complete details on the status and safety of the four men to enable further coordination with concerned departments.

For Indian-origin families in the U.S. with relatives in overseas job markets, this highlights ongoing concerns over deceptive recruitment networks.
