YouTube creator's AI bot negotiated salary in job interview

YouTube creator posted a video on Oct. 13, 2026, showing an AI-to-AI interview for a marketing-manager position. The interviewer bot, identified as Pat from Brightwell Home, offered a salary range of $85,000 to $95,000. The creator's AI assistant, Victor, claimed the creator managed four direct reports and two contractors, which the creator corrected to state he is a marketing coordinator. Victor offered to accept $60,000, below the company's range and the creator's desired $140,000 to $150,000. The creator withdrew his application after the two bots entered a looping goodbye exchange. ResumeBuilder data shows 24% of companies used AI for initial interviews in 2024, with 29% expected in 2025. Greenhouse figures indicate more than 63% of job seekers have been interviewed by an AI recruiter. The video's authenticity as an actual job interview or a staged demonstration has not been independently confirmed.
This incident illustrates the risks of using unsupervised AI agents in job interviews.
