Secret Service arrests armed man near White House

U.S. Secret Service officers arrested 25-year-old Venezuelan national Ronny Yordrix Guanipa Chrinos near the White House complex along Constitution Avenue on the evening of Nov. 5, 2026.
Officers approached the stolen vehicle after observing the driver acting erratically.
Chrinos told officers that voices in his head commanded him to travel to Washington, D.C., to assassinate President Donald Trump.
A search of the vehicle recovered an AR-15-style rifle, two handguns, and dozens of rounds of ammunition.
Department of Homeland Security records show Chrinos crossed the southern border unlawfully near Texas in March 2024, was apprehended by Border Patrol, and was released into the interior under then-active administrative processing policies.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) placed an immigration detainer on Chrinos with the U.S. Marshals Service, and he is in federal custody.
This incident highlights security perimeter concerns around the White House.
